Terms of Service
Last updated May 3, 2026
These are the terms governing your use of UThere, a product of UniSocial, Inc. (“we,” “us”). By using the service or signing up for the waitlist, you agree to these terms.
About the service
UThere is a platform that helps households hire and manage the people who work in their homes — nannies, cleaners, tutors, and similar help — using AI-assisted screening, scheduling, and ongoing communication. We facilitate the connection and the workflow; we do not employ the people you hire, and we are not a staffing agency. Hiring decisions are yours, and the employer-employee relationship is between you and the person you hire.
Private beta
The product is in private beta. Features may change, break, or disappear. We're building in public, with real households, and we'll be honest about what works and what doesn't. If you find a problem, tell us at contact@unisocial.co.
Acceptable use
Use UThere honestly and lawfully. Don't harass, deceive, or endanger anyone you interact with through the platform. Don't use UThere to discriminate against candidates in violation of applicable law (federal, state, or local). Don't share your account credentials. Don't scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the service.
Background checks and compliance
Background checks ordered through UThere are run by an FCRA-compliant Consumer Reporting Agency. As the user of those reports, you agree to comply with FCRA requirements — which means giving candidates the required disclosures and consents before running a check, and following the adverse-action process if you don't hire someone because of what was found. We will surface the relevant prompts and forms inside the product.
Payments and fees
Pricing during private beta is communicated separately for each beta cohort. Background-check fees and any other third-party costs are passed through at cost. We will notify you of pricing before you incur any charges.
Your data
Your data is yours. We use it to run the service and improve it. See the Privacy Policy for details on what we collect, how we use it, and how to delete it.
Termination
You can stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account. We can terminate or suspend access if you violate these terms or use the service in a way that endangers others. We'll give you notice and a chance to fix the issue when reasonable.
Disclaimers
UThere is provided “as is.” AI screening, summaries, and recommendations are tools — not guarantees about the people you hire. You are responsible for the hiring decisions you make and the relationships you form through the platform. We do not guarantee that any specific candidate is safe, qualified, or right for your home.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Mateo County, California, and you and we both consent to that jurisdiction.
Changes
If we change these terms in a material way, we'll notify you by email and update the date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
