Privacy Policy
Last updated May 3, 2026
UThere is a product of UniSocial, Inc. (“we,” “us”). We take privacy seriously because we're asking you to trust us with information about the people who help run your home. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It's written to be readable, not lawyered-up.
What we collect
Right now (waitlist).Just your email address and a marker for which signup form you used. That's it.
Once the product is live. Account information you provide (name, household details, the people you hire), the content of conversations and AI interviews you run on the platform, scheduling data, transcripts of calls placed through UThere, background-check information collected through our compliance partners, and standard usage data (device type, IP address, app events). We will publish a more detailed disclosure before the product opens to general availability.
Why we collect it
To build the product, run the service, contact you about your account or our progress, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your data, ever. We do not use your conversations or data to train third-party AI models without your explicit, opt-in consent.
Who we share it with
Only the third parties strictly necessary to run the service — infrastructure providers (e.g., Vercel for hosting, Google Cloud for backend, Resend for transactional email), background-check providers (e.g., Checkr) when you initiate a check, and analytics providers we use to understand whether the product is working. Each of these is bound by a data-processing agreement. We disclose data to law enforcement only when legally required, and we'll fight overly broad requests.
Your rights
You can request access to the data we hold about you, request deletion of your account and data, request correction of anything inaccurate, or export your data. Email us at contact@unisocial.co and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in California, the EU, or another jurisdiction with specific data-protection laws, you have additional rights under those laws. We will honor them.
Data we store about people you hire
When you use UThere to hire household help, we collect information about candidates and hired staff that is necessary to run the service — their interview responses, profile information, and (with their consent) background-check results. That information belongs to them as much as to you, and they have the same access, deletion, and correction rights described above. We will never share their background-check results with another employer without re-running the check, in line with FCRA requirements.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access inside our company is limited to the people who need it to do their job. We use industry-standard infrastructure (Google Cloud, Vercel) and follow their security best practices.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll email everyone on the waitlist and account holders, and update the date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively reduce your privacy without your consent.
